Erica Sharpe is one of the UK’s leading contemporary jewellers. She designs and hand crafts exquisite, unique, fine jewellery from a wide range of precious metals and gemstones.

Following art school, Erica Sharpe trained with an Indian jewellers and then in fine European-style jewellery. She attended masterclasses in diamond mounting by I.P.G. founder, Michael Page, eventually working for him full-time for several years. With his encouragement and mentoring, she formed her own retail business and workshop in 1992. She has been designing and creating bespoke pieces and unique jewels ever since.

Erica is a qualified gemmologist (FGA) and also holds the Gem A’s Diamond Diploma. She has studied many ancient goldsmithing techniques such as granulation and wire-work with Giovanni Corvaja and has developed new ways of combining precious metals with Cornish Tin.

Her artistic approach brings an entire story to life – combining colour, meaning and personality to deliver a stylish and distinctive result. She designs and crafts jewellery from scratch and also specialises in re-designing clients’ old jewellery into new.

Erica was one of the first to be licensed to trade in Fairtrade gold. She strives to advance ethical options in sourcing gemstones and supports the vital changes needed within the trade. Shortlisted for the Wildlife Artist of the Year 2014 with her ‘Crane Dance’ necklace, she has won many awards for her designs, craftsmanship and ethical business management.

Since 2017, Erica has been writing her ‘Hidden Gems’ monthly article on jewellery and associated creative crafts in the South West’s leading newspaper magazine. She continues to exhibit nationally and works by appointment from her studio in Somerset.
